Thank you for you participation in the inaugural Goose Bump 6 Hour Race! Congratulations to all of us for our achievements. Whatever your goals, we hope you enjoyed yourself and that you are pleased with how the day went for you. The weather was about as perfect as one can get for the very end of November, thankfully.

From Katherine and my perspective, everything went as well or better than we anticipated. We had 16 racers, which is amazing, and the self-timing and lap counting system worked. We didn’t expect that we would spend so much time in the early hours of the race stopping to talk to people and dealing with organizational matters, which I guess is what happens when you are participating and also need to ensure everything works well.

We want to thank all the supporters who came out. It was very very nice to see people at the finish area in the final hour! We also appreciated the hot chocolate, cookies, muffins, hot cider, coffee, and other supplies that people brought out: what an unexpected pleasure that was! So, thanks to Jen Ruland, Gay Renouf, Kathryn Rachnar, and Conor Renouf’s friend (I’m sorry, we never got a name—We would be more than happy to send out a personalized thank you if someone will send us her name…).

Please let us know if you are interested in further low-key and informal events like this. If there is interest, we would look to possibly doing another 6 hour race in the future.
