What: Goose Bump 6 Hour Run
Where: Wascana Park, Regina, SK
Start and staging is in the parking lot east of the Marina
When: November 30, 2013
6:15 a.m., check-in and briefing
6:30 a.m., start
12:30 p.m., all full laps completed by this time will count
Course:
-the course follows the paved path around Wascana Lake, approximately 3.98 km
-the precise course distance will be posted as soon as it has been measured using a calibrated measuring wheel
-the entire course is lit, so there shouldn't be any issues with visibility in the early hours
How:
- as advertised: the race will use the lake path as its course; run or walk as many or few laps as you want, but only completed laps count--no partial laps: if the time runs out and you are somewhere on the course, the last completed lap is the one that counts
-this is intended to be a low key race; I will provide a tally sheet for recording competed laps and splits (participants to sign in each lap); participants are expected to provide their own water and nutrition, but if we have an unseasonably warm day, then I will provide water by my vehicle; as we will pass by our vehicles every lap, it should be easy for each of us to access our own supplies *** if I can find a volunteer or two to handle the lap counting and water/nutrition, I'll certainly use them
-the course will be open, so please be courteous of other runners, walkers, etc.
Registration: there is no registration fee; pet food items or pet toys/supplies are requested as a donation to the Humane Society (I will collect before the start and deliver them)
-while I expect to be able to accept race day registrations, it would be ideal to have advance registration by email (see address below); I will close registration once registrations hit 20
What you get:
-a pleasant environment with fun people to join you as you run or walk (or do both!) for the pure pleasure of sport
-good weather is not guaranteed!
-I will provide a special race memento to all starters who register by November 20
-race results will be posted on this site
